If there’s a surplus of anything in Thailand, it’s definitely FOOD! Turn around any corner and you’ll see carts selling various yummy-smelling snacks and treats. However, for picky eaters and those with dietary restrictions, it’s not as simple as “I see it, I eat it.” This is when knowing certain phrases is useful – you can get knowledge of the ingredients used and inquire if they can make something suitable for you.
What do you order? What can you order? The need to eat is essential no matter where you are in the world, but this can be tricky in a foreign country, especially if you don’t know what you’re looking at. Whether you’re a foodie, an adventurous eater, or just want to learn more about what’s available in Thailand, learn some of the following vocabulary and phrases so you are equipped to get what’s really important: food!

Knowing Muay Thai terminology won’t help you much when you’re outside a training and fighting environment. However, knowing some general phrases and vocabulary can get you to communicate what you want and maybe even out of the stickiest of situations.
