Kem MuayThai Gym [2025 UPDATED GYM REVIEW]

Posted on August 6, 2025September 5, 2025 By Megan McNelis

Choosing a gym in Thailand can be an overwhelming undertaking, and so I fully understand how important it is to have the opportunity to read an unbiased review of each camp you may be considering. I regret to inform you that this…well… is not that (although I have done my best to do so!). It has been four months now. I haven’t left, nor do I plan to. So while I will be as accurate as possible in telling you my experience, I have to warn you that I’m smitten. I’ve got it bad for Kem Muay Thai.

The Bear Fight Club [Gym Review]

Posted on March 14, 2025September 8, 2025 By Natalie Wong

Walking into The Bear Fight Club (TBFC), I was surprised by the size of the gym despite seeing the entrance tucked away. I immediately felt the energy and friendliness of the students and coaches. All the coaches were welcoming and professional. The classes are mixed and you can train with all levels, including with the high level fighters that regularly compete on Channel 7, Rajadamnern, and ONE Lumpinee. Everyone is super friendly.

Sitjaopho Muay Thai [Gym Review]

Posted on September 23, 2023September 5, 2025 By Angela Chang

Hua Hin isn’t usually on the list for tourists wanting to explore Thailand – afterall, for beaches, they usually go down south to Phuket or Samui. Or they go to Pattaya which has a more steady stream of foreign tourists wanting for a taste of both sand and nightlife.

For Muay Thai lovers, though, Hua Hin is the home of a small gym that houses the talents of Phet-tho and Phet-ek Sitjaopho (Kru F and Kru O, respectively), twin brothers and possibly the best Muay Femur teachers of all time.

Posted on April 21, 2023August 7, 2023 By Angela Chang

The training is intense for those who are in it but can come off as unstructured to those who have never visited a smaller, more local Muay Thai camp. This story is not complete without giving way to the mission of Wor. Watthana gym and its significance for all the kids who are training, running around, and more.

Kem Muaythai Gym [Gym Review]

Posted on May 14, 2017September 5, 2025 By Angela Chang

The car turned into an unmarked road that went up the mountain. And we kept going up for what seemed like half an hour. I felt my ears pop from the pressure change. The morning run was going to be interesting, for sure. After the long drive up, we turned again and stopped. We got out of the car and were surprised by the nippy air. We were in the mountains, afterall. 591.76 m / 1941.48 feet in altitude, to be exact. Stark contrast from Bangkok, which is 4.48 m / 14.69 feet.

WHAT IS MUAY THAI?

มวยไทย
Thai boxing
The art of eight limbs

No matter what you call it, this sport has changed lives.

Driven by economical means in Thailand, children from poorer regions of the country start training and fighting to help support their families.

This sport with humble beginnings has grown exponentially all over the world. Although most non-Thais do not fight as an economical means, their passion for the sport has helped pave the way for Muay Thai to become profitable on the international scene.
