Fighter Spotlight: Sean Fagan

Posted on February 2, 2022February 2, 2022 By Angela Chang

At first glance, Sean Fagan seems like any other person. He loves training Muay Thai. He loves dogs. And he loves to travel.

But the founder of the biggest platform for Muay Thai is not your run-of-the-mill fighter. Over years of hard work, he’s developed Muay Thai Guy into a self-sustaining source of income.

Muay Thai Guy’s humble beginnings started off with Sean just documenting his training and fighting. He shared his journey with a small but tight-knit group of fellow enthusiasts. Over time, the platform grew as Sean continued to share his experiences as a fighter, even after he went pro. He also started selling ebooks, making Podcast episodes, and hosting Muay Thai retreats!

Thanks to the fruits of his labor, Sean is now financially free, and can spend his time doing what he loves – spending time with his family and hustling towards causes he cares about, such as Wor. Watthana Muay Thai Gym for kids and Soi Dog Foundation.

If you’d like to learn more about Sean’s journey to where he is and how he made his passion work for him (literally and figuratively!), listen to our chat below. You can also click here to find it along with other episodes.

If you want an in-depth guide to training in Thailand, I’ve got just the thing.

Posted on May 26, 2021May 26, 2021

This reflective post by @Yodcherry Sityodtong gives great insight on what it’s like to be raised as a Thai fighter.

Yodcherry wrote this post after finding some photos of her as a child. She recalled how she and her father lived in a very small rented room together and struggled to have enough food. Her family sold second-hand shoes and CDs at a market for a living.

FIGHTER SPOTLIGHT: Yolanda Schmidt

Posted on March 7, 2018August 28, 2019

The face of a fighter comes in many forms, and is something nobody can ever categorize or make pre-judgments about accurately. Yolanda Schmidt, the most recent winner of the Muay Thai Angels tournament, proves just that. “The stereotype that I am not feminine based on the sport I partake in,…
