Women’s Fight @ Samui Fight 2017 – Results & Videos

Posted on September 10, 2017August 28, 2019 By Angela Chang

September 8 saw a great night of fights and brought much-needed exposure on a big stage when it comes to female fighters.

Sawsing walked forward most of the fight and put on a clinch clinic against Laura from Tiger MT. Despite getting cut, she walked away with the W. Namtarn, who really doesn’t kick much and uses her knees to win fights, did just that and won a very convincing fight. Chommanee used smart footwork and distancing to use all her eight weapons. This proved to be very difficult to overcome for Teresa. In the main event, Petchjeeja used her femur style and dominated Hongkaw in every way.

Just a few months after the second wave of COVID-19 that prompted closures in Bangkok and surrounding provinces in January, infections are on the rise again. Except for this time, it’s been detected that it’s the UK variant of the strain – so far, it’s spread more quickly and resulted in more deaths than the last wave. There is currently a shortage of hospital beds in Bangkok. People are being turned away due to this.

Starting today, April 26, 31 types of venues in Bangkok are mandated to close for the next two weeks (or until further notice). These venues include Muay Thai camps, boxing stadiums, fitness gyms, and parks.

Remembering Golden Era Fighter: Phaiboon Fairtex

Posted on October 3, 2017August 28, 2019

Monlit Sitphodaeng, former trainer at Fairtex, prepared for his drive upcountry to a Northerneastern (an area commonly referred to as “Isaan”) province called Chaiyaphum. Usually an active and funny person, he drove in solemn silence. The ride from Bangkok to Chaiyaphum was long, taking at least 5-7 hours, and this…
